Weekly Energy Audit
Helps a member see which parts of their week drain or restore their energy, including work, commute, shifts, screens, family duties and rest, so they can make one realistic change.
What you will need
- Your main activities this week and roughly how many hours each (list of activity + hours): For example work, travel or taxi, overtime, childcare, household tasks, church, exercise, screen time, sleep.
- For each activity: does it drain or restore you? (scale -2 (strong drain) to +2 (strong restore)): Be honest. Some work tasks restore people, some rest does not.
- Average hours of sleep per night (hours): Shift workers: count your main sleep and naps.
- Times per day you check work messages after hours (count): More detail.
- Do you work nights or rotating shifts? (yes/no): More detail.
How it works
For each activity: weighted = hours x energy_rating. net_energy = sum(weighted). drain_hours = sum(hours where rating < 0). restore_hours = sum(hours where rating > 0). drain_share = drain_hours / (drain_hours + restore_hours) x 100. top_drains = 3 activities with the most negative weighted value. top_restorers = 3 with the most positive. sleep_flag = avg_sleep_hours < 7 (for adults). IF shift_pattern == yes add shift-sleep tips (dark, quiet room; anchor sleep; caution with driving after night shifts). IF after_hours_work_checks >= 5 add digital-boundary tips. Suggest ONE change: reduce or reshape the top drain, or add 1-2 hours of the top restorer.
What you get
- Net energy balance for the week
- Share of rated time that drains you
- Your biggest drains
- What restores you
- One change to try next week
What it means
- Your week gives back roughly as much as it takes, so protect what restores you.
- Your week is tipping towards draining, and one small change could rebalance it.
- Most of your week is draining you, which is a common road to burnout, so it may help to talk to someone.
- Short sleep makes everything feel harder, so sleep may be the best place to start.
