Housing Crisis Check

Helps you work out how urgent your housing problem is and what to do first, from tonight's bed to your rights if someone is trying to evict you.

Eight quick questions. Private. Your employer never sees your answers. If you are in danger where you are staying, call SAPS on 10111, or 112 from a mobile.

Private: your answers stay on this device and are not saved. You can stop at any time.

  1. Do you have a safe place to sleep tonight?

  2. Has anyone locked you out, removed your things, or cut your water or electricity to force you to leave?

  3. Have you received court papers or a court order about eviction?

  4. Have you been told to leave within days, without any court papers?

  5. Are you two or more months behind on rent or bond payments?

  6. Is the place you are living in unsafe because of violence or abuse?

  7. Are there children, older people or someone ill or disabled who will need a place with you?

  8. Have you lost most of your income recently?
